The Artist AB1 Natural Dreadnought is designed from the ground up with the beginner guitarist in mind. By combining an inspiring, resonant sound with a player-friendly design, this guitar ensures that the early stages of your learning journey are smooth, comfortable, and deeply rewarding.
Authentic Resonance & Sturdy Build
Built in the classic Dreadnought body shape, the AB1 delivers a full, rich, and robust acoustic tone with plenty of natural projection. It comes equipped with high-quality steel strings, giving you the bright, authentic acoustic ring heard on countless rock, pop, folk, and country records. To ensure long-lasting reliability and performance, the guitar features premium die-cast machine heads that turn smoothly, make tuning simple, and keep your instrument stable and in tune for longer.
Optimized Beginner Playability
To make learning chords as painless as possible, the AB1 is set up at the factory with a low string action. This is carefully calibrated to be incredibly easy for new fingers to press down without causing fret buzz. It also features a built-in adjustable truss rod, which is an essential feature that allows you to counteract the natural effects of weather and humidity shifts, ensuring your guitar neck stays perfectly straight and plays beautifully for years to come.

This full-size Dreadnought acoustic guitar is recommended for adults and children aged 12+ who are over 165cm tall. If you are shopping for a smaller or younger player, consider exploring our 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar range.
These recommendations are guidelines designed to ensure a comfortable fit, rather than strict rules. Because physical build and ability vary, a younger player with a longer reach or advanced technique may easily handle an instrument outside their recommended age bracket.

We ship all orders for free. All deliveries are insured so if an item arrives damaged we'll happily refund or replace it for you. Check our warranty page for more information.
Purchases with Artist Guitars come with a 3-year Warranty. Warranty is only valid to the original purchaser and in the original country of purchase. Please take note of your order number to help us verify your purchase in the event of a warranty claim.
If the issue can be fixed by replacing a part, we will send it to you free of charge. Spare parts are shipped from our office in Sydney, Australia. If more extensive work is required our Customer Happiness department will arrange a free return slip or courier collection to get your item returned for further assessment.
Also included in your warranty is our industry leading 100 Days Change of Mind Policy
If you're not completely satisfied with the quality of any of our products, we'll be happy to arrange a free return of your product for an exchange or full refund, including any shipping charges. This also covers instances where you may have bought the wrong size or if you simply change your mind.
If you do require a return, just Open a Support Ticket and we'll either send you a reply paid label for Australia Post or arrange for a collection by courier. This will depend on your location and the product you purchased. If you have any trouble you can contact us.

Nicely built beginners guitar
I brought this for my 9yo nephew who was learning on an old nylon stringed guitar with horrible action. I was looking for a smaller guitar with steel strings to last him for the next 2 to 3 years - until a full sized guitar would suit him better. As in any case - transition to a steel stringed guitar is tough but ultimately worthwhile. The action on the guitar is quite good and it has a nice tone. I’m very happy with this purchase - I would suggest you also invest in a extra set of strings. Fitting nylon coated elixir strings to this guitar would be the icing on top for this well built entry level guitar.
