Perfect? No. Value for money? Hard to argue with!

Bought one of these for my Son (11) whose been playing 3-4 years (I've played bass well over 20 years now). First up, you can't argue with the value for money, however the instrument was not perfect (as one might expect at this price point). It required a good setup, intonation was out by a mile, string height at saddles high and the next needed a bit of tweaking to remove excess relief. A couple of high frets that needed flattening down (the fret ends were dressed really nicely though!). Also found the jack came loose about the third time he plugged it in. Tuning machine heads are also quite loose, and I suspect might start to cause issues with holding tune as they age. All simple fixes, except for the tuning machines for someone with a bit of experience setting up guitars or a luthier. Let's face it, these are problems that are common with guitars many times the cost of this one. The amp that came in the package is okay for a bedroom amp, but it's noisy, clicks loudly when turned on and off, and tone is distorted and terrible. If this is what they are all like, you'd be better to take the extra $100 and invest it into a Blackstar Fly3 or a second-hand Fender Rumble 15.

This bass arrived promptly and was well set up - and even in tune - when it arived. It came with an extra set of strings which is great although I would have preferred to forgo these in favour of flat-wound strings rather than round. Overall, though, fantastic value for money. Shame it had to come from China.
