GREAT experience with damaged NTL1
I recently purchased a "customer returned" NTL1 with damage due to the neck mounting screws stripped from the neck. The listing indicated the guitar being in poor condition. Accordingly it was priced at under half the normal price. Therefore I expected an instrument with signs of wear as well as structural damage. What a surprise! Aside from the obvious damage the guitar was in absolutely MINT CONDITION!!! complete with string wrapping and accessories. I subsequently repaired the neck damage - a relatively easy process. I disassembled the neck, cleaned and glued in hard wood (birch) dowels, redrilled the pilot holes and...voila! all fixed. However I was still apprehensive about action and intonation, neck relief and alignment. Once restrung snd allowing for time for strings to stabilise, i tried it through my Udo Roesner acoustic amp. WOW! it plays great. Action good (nylon is always slightly higher than steel) better than i expected for factory setup, and certainly very playable in all positions. Intonation very close, relief very good and tuning stable. And plugged in the sound is excellent - string definition great in all positions, excellent piezo and powerful preamp. The neck is chunky, but not unpleasant. String spacing is narrower than I'm accustomed to, but very fast and quite playable. THIS IS AN AMAZING BUY!!! I also own the Ibanez FRH10 (6x the price i paid for the Artist) which I still enjoy as has a slightly more 'traditional' neck feel, but the Artist is an AMAZING guitar in comparison, and the onboard electronics way outperform the Ibanez tonally. in my opinion. This guitar is a keeper, for sure, and i anticipate using it live ad i am in 2 working bands. A final note to Artist: The neck is okoume, which is classified as a hardwood: however the fibres are soft, so not as good as e g. maple for necks. This is possibly why my guitar had stripped threads. I'd suggest using threaded metal inserts - not a big expense as the pilot holes have to be drilled separately anyway. Otherwise, great work and WAY ABOVE EXPECTATIONS!!

Good value
This guitar has nearly all the features I need in a nylon electric acoustic guitar except for a few issues. The body material is too heavy. The satin finish of the body does not allow the guitar to be held tight against your body as it is slippery. For a couch practice guitar, it isn't that great. But for someone who plays with the strap, this should be fine. But despite its shortcomings, the tone, fret work, nut and fret width, scale length, and above all, its price, makes this a great buy.

Absolutely blown away!
I have owned quite a few guitars in my time, and I recently discovered my love of nylon string guitars. The cheapest alternative to this guitar was another $600 and the next cheapest was $400 more than that, yet the Artist at $399 shipped has absolutely floored me with its quality. It feels like a much MUCH more expensive instrument, is a joy to play and it sounds truly wonderful. You can even throw some distortion at it and play metal with the thing! The only gripes I have are the knob caps look like cheap afterthoughts and the strap buttons are plastic. These are probably the two easiest and cheapest parts to replace, so certainly not a dealbreaker. The pots feel really nice, it has a bone nut and bridge - it honestly feels better than $1000+ Ibanez guitars I have owned. It is heavy, but that just means it's quality, right? :D The only thing that could make me happier right now is if I didn't just drop the 9V battery out of my Ibanez Talman right onto the face of this guitar, leaving a wee dent in what was a perfect finish. Boooo! Seriously, if you're after a nylon string electric, save your money and get this - it may not cost a lot but it is by no means a "cheap" guitar. I had every intention of this being "stopgap" until I could afford a Cordoba Stage but I see zero point in "upgrading" now. Absolutely blown away!!!

Artist Tele Purchase Number Five
I ordered this classical solid body after watching Peter Northcote's Online video Review which is Very Accurate! This guitar is aimed at electric guitarists who are wanting a classical sounding guitar they can plug into their guitar amplification rig.Comparing it to my Epiphone Coupe model, which retailed for over $1,000,you don't get the finger squeaks of the Epi,the EQ on the NTL-1 is more accurate and simple to use, the guitar is surprisingly heavy(in Les Paul territory) but a very tasty looking instrument with classy looking Tuners with textured grip black knobs and matching black string posts. My only beef is that the top nut & bridge saddle are Not Bone as per spec sheet.Very surprisinglyly low action, very comfortable c shape neck,12" radius, and great for lead sounding, single note, jazzy single strum chords.Amazing Bang for your Buck.Love It.AAA+++

They just keep coming
This is my 3rd guitar purchase from Artist guitars, such a fun instrument to play. I usually gig with a steel string acoustic, but took this guy to my last gig to get a feel. Did not dissapoint. Played it straight out of the box and sounded great. Will do a proper setup over the weekend, which will make this thing even better. My gigs are usually 3-4 hours, i can easily have this thing strapped over my shoulder for that amount of time. just the right weight, nicely balanced.

Great value
I am SO impressed with the quality of this guitar for the cost. It plays just beautifully, straight out of the box. My only surprise was that it makes a lot less acoustic noise than I was expecting - it's definetly designed to be plugged in. Nice for plinking at night when everyone has gone to bed
Store OwnerWe are glad to hear that you are happy with the item. Thank you so much for your review.16 January 2025 -

Artist NTL1 Amber Burst Nylon Acoustic-Electric Gu
Fantastic and well priced piezo solid body nylon string guitar. Sent the day after it came back into stock. Think it must have a hollow chamber somewhere in the body as it is relatively easy to hear without amplification. While the tone is excellent as is, it comes alive when used with an acoustic preamp. I use a software one with a patch to replicate a Taylor 812 along with a Taylor 812 IR. Have lots of other patches and IRs of famous acoustic guitars to try out but at the moment this guitar has motivated me to practice every day again. Thanks again Artist Guitar for prompt delivery, excellent customer service and another great product. .

Artist have done it again!!
What a great little guitar, how do they even break even with this? The body is comfortable, the neck is nice, not as wide as a regular classical styled guitar, not as flat as it does have a large radius, so subtle. The fit and finish is incredible for the price, the piezo is pretty good too considering. The intonation is good, very lightly sharp on the A string, but not worth fretting about. The binding adds a bit more of a luxe aesthetic, as does the subtle neck binding with a lighter wood. Although the description of the guitar on Artist's site doesn't specify, this guitar has a truss rod, which really isn't needed on a nylon string guitar, but I won't complain about having one. When you look at the competition, there's not really anything like this, especially for the price. Cort / Ibanez/Harley Benton do similarly constructed guitars, the cheapest starts at around $1000. Caveat, I'm no professional, I just make music at home for me. If I were a guitarist wanting something something similar in your toolbox, I wouldn't hesitate, this is the bargain you've been looking for. Thank you Artist, keep up the amazing work.
