About this Artist TweedTone20R 20 Watt Tube Guitar Amplifier Combo

The Artist Tweedtone20R amplifier provides tonnes British Tube-driven, vintage-voiced tone at an affordable price.  This amp has 2 channels, clean and overdrive.  There is a Footswitch jack underneath the back of the amp to switch between channels.  Footswitch is not included.

Both channels independent volume controls, and there is a master volume control which adjusts the overall volume of the amplifier.  So you can really drive the clean channel hard to get that nice warm overdrive "breakup" at levels that won't annoy your neighbours.  Switching to the Overdrive channel provides a thicker, creamier overdrive for harmonically-rich blues and rock tones.

The 3-band EQ is highly responsive and allows for a vast array of tones to suit your personal preferences.

This amp is loaded with a high-performance Celestion Seventy 80 12 inch speaker for excellent all-round performance and tone.

I've only owned this amp for two weeks, but have played through it a lot over that time. I've owned and played through so many valve and solid state amps over the 50 + years I have been playing guitar and feel I've at least come to know what I like in the way of tone and feel from a good amp. This is a very good amp, and not just for the money. It has a really nice clean tone - which is more the tone I tend to play over the last number of years. The tone is clear and warm in the clean mode, but push the clean channel and it saturates really nicely. You can wind open the volume and cut back the master volume and get a nice tone, or the reverse - opening the master volume wide and using the channel volume to control your volume and 'warmth'. The Drive channel has more than enough crunch and overdrive for me, without getting to the extremes of the available gain. The EQ is pretty sensitive to, so I imagine most players will be able to easily dial in the sound they are looking for. I'm using the Clean channel on my amp to get a kind of Fender Blues Junior type sound, but more towards the cleaner aspect of that amp. Nice and warm and responsive. Bang for your buck, this amp is very hard to beat in my opinion. The only downside of this amp for me is the Reverb. It isn't a quality unit in my view. You can use it down around 8 - 9 o'clock on the dial, but more than that and it tends to get 'flubbery' and to my aging ears, spoils the beautiful tones this amp is capable of. I'm using a pedal to get my reverb and modulation sounds. I'm more than happy with that setup. Would I recommend it ? you bet. It's a well kept secret. It's built solid and looks like it would handle gigging if that was what you wanted the amp for. Apart from the Reverb not being up to much - in settings above 9 o'clock, in my opinion I still rate the amp as a five star buy. Thanks for an excellent deal Artist. I will be back for more gear in the future - as my guitar fund allows ;-))

I was looking at a small head amp with Aux, Headphone, Bluetooth function very cleaver and a super price, I asked the sales guy to plug in the TweedTone (no Aux, Headphone or Bluetooth) just for a sound comparison. The sound difference blew me away and was just what I had been trying to achieve, makes a massive difference to my LP59. I bought it on the spot Great decision! Thank you Artist.

I love this Amp. At $499 It is pound for pound (and Dollar for Dollar) the Best value Valve amp around. it has separate Clean and Drive channels that You can toggle(noiselessly)between using an optional footswitch (I already had one) And both are Great The Clean is sparkly Clean and the Drive has some real Grunt. I have tested it with My Jimmy Vaughan Fender Strat(Single Coils), My PRS SE277 SemiHollow Baritone Guitar(P90s) and My Artist LP59 (Humbuckers)and all the Guitars really Shine through this Amp. My other Amps are a VoxAC15HW(Alnico Blue) and Vox AD60 VTX and this Little Champ is right up there with them at a fraction of the price
