Artist ABJ42 Acoustic Bass w/ Cutaway and EQ

Why let guitarists have all the fun? The new Artist ABJ42 Acoustic Bass brings some much-needed low-end to the campfire strummers! With a laminated spruce top and laminated sapele back and sides, the ABJ42 delivers plenty of unamplified volume, but if you're headed for the stage, the inbuilt Fishman Isys preamp offers fantastic amplified tone, in case you're in need of a little more grunt.

Fitted with a comfortable okoumen neck, topped with a high-performance eco-rosewood fretboard, and 20 nickel frets, the ABJ42 is also equipped with an ergonomic cutaway, allowing upper neck access for bass solos aplenty! The dovetail neck joint offers serious sustain and premium resonance, while the eco-rosewood bridge delivers incredible stability in all conditions. Whether you're plucking around the campfire or on the MTV Unplugged stage, the ABJ42 is the perfect option for those seeking gorgeous low-end tones with a little less attack!

Awesome, considering the price.

This bass is amazing for the price. Can I pick holes in it? Yeah, of course, the machine heads are crooked, the E string is quieter than the rest, the strings are horrible, there was a silica gel pack in the body that was hard to get out. But for the price, it has a nice neck, looks great, stays in tune, has a decent action, has a Fishman preamp, has full binding and the finish is way better than it should be. First thing I did was replace the strings with D'Addario Chromes, short scale, what a massive difference, no string clatter and no finger noise, these cost a third of the price of the entire bass but feel so good, but are a little quieter. The fretboard feels better than it should, there was no buzzing or sizzling, but the original bronze strings were quite flappy. When I'm bored on day, I'm going to fill the machine head holes and reset them, because I can't unsee the angles they are on. Also, don't forget to turn off the tuner or the battery will go flat. Artist Guitars have delivered another instrument the punches well above the price.
