The Artist MSL110 Lap Steel is a sleek, 6-string instrument finished in striking Metallic Black, designed for players who want that unmistakable smooth, gliding tone associated with classic country and beyond. Built with a solid poplar body, it offers a balanced, resonant sound while remaining lightweight and comfortable for both beginners and experienced players.
At the heart of the MSL110 is a hot-wound mini humbucker featuring rail pole pieces, delivering a rich, full tone with excellent sustain. The addition of a push-pull tone control allows you to split the coil, giving you access to brighter, sharper single-coil-style sounds alongside the warmer humbucker voice. This versatility makes it ideal not only for country music but also for blues, rock, and ambient styles.

We ship all orders for free. All deliveries are insured so if an item arrives damaged we'll happily refund or replace it for you. Check our warranty page for more information.
Purchases with Artist Guitars come with a 3-year Warranty. Warranty is only valid to the original purchaser and in the original country of purchase. Please take note of your order number to help us verify your purchase in the event of a warranty claim.
If the issue can be fixed by replacing a part, we will send it to you free of charge. Spare parts are shipped from our office in Sydney, Australia. If more extensive work is required our Customer Happiness department will arrange a free return slip or courier collection to get your item returned for further assessment.
Also included in your warranty is our industry leading 100 Days Change of Mind Policy
If you're not completely satisfied with the quality of any of our products, we'll be happy to arrange a free return of your product for an exchange or full refund, including any shipping charges. This also covers instances where you may have bought the wrong size or if you simply change your mind.
If you do require a return, just Open a Support Ticket and we'll either send you a reply paid label for Australia Post or arrange for a collection by courier. This will depend on your location and the product you purchased. If you have any trouble you can contact us.

GREAT LITTLE SLIDE GUITAR MSL110
I play slide guitar and wanted another lap steel guitar that is lighter than the one I have. The MSL110 is a great instrument to cary to jam sessions. It's light and easy to play. I tuned it to open D, but I am sure that it can be easily tuned to C6. Nice padded bag too. The detachable legs are a bonus really. I highly recommend it. It was an over night shipping, which I really appreciate. Thank you.

Ordered Tuesday night, arrived in Invercargill Friday afternoon. Looks great Sounds cool with the valeton reverb pedal I got at the same time. Build is good, it's tidy as can be. The splittable rail humbucker absolutely does it's thing in single or humbucker mode. Can't fault it. The bag is fine, take some care screwing in the legs and you'll be ok. I'm really enjoying it, and will be buying more from Artist. Thanks dudes.

Firstly, delivery was right on cue. Thanks for the accurate ETA. The product itself was very well packaged, contained all the bits it was supposed to, and was in good working condition straight out of the box. It is surprisingly well built, was accurately tuned to C6 (!), and sounds just like I anticipated. Overall, a good product, excellent value for money, and I would be well happy to deal with this company again.

great little lap steel
I bought two Artist MSL110 6 string lap steels and they were delivered within two days of making the payment. I tuned them to the tunings I wanted, C6 and E7, and started playing on them right away. About the only thing I would change, would be to have the strings a littler higher than they are. But that's not a showstopper. The bar is heavier than the one I first got started with, a fair few years ago, and lighter than the one I'd previously used on both a pedal steel and a lap steel. So it's a fairly good fit for a lap steel. I'm currently not using the legs, but that could change if I get into a band. All in all, I think it a good instrument, whether as a beginner's, a professional's, or as a second instrument.

Early days for me ,probably most other purchasers as well.First few weeks with it.For it's price,I think it is great.Using strings supplied,I think probably 10-46,stays in tune really well so far.,will fit heavier strings when I figure out what is most suitable. Weakest thing is the nut,but it will do until I figure out how to maybe fit something over the top of it. Tone control doesn't do much.Good idea with split coil,sounds OK with small amp,works super well with vst plugins,which is what is mainly used in my case.So it's super nice sounding through various synth amps.Pretty good intonation for my untrained ears.No buzzes,justsounds great.,a real nice sound.Tone bar is heavy,could do with maybe better,more ergonomic tone bar,but is still great for this price.Excellent bags,legs work fine.Had seen one returned for having ill fitting legs,but this one is fine.Good having adjustable tripod legs ,as you can slope forward to the player,bit easier to see what you are doing.Really looking forward to coming to grips with this new (for me),instrument.Well done artist guitars,I have never had a bad product from these guys.

With a history of buying musical instruments simply because I really need just one more, then fizzling out after a week or two and leaving them sitting somewhere deep in my wardrobe to be lost for a year or two, I overruled my wife's reminder about how many guitars I've got and ordered the above lapsteel. I've always loved Santo and Johnnys Sleepwalk { you have to be getting on to know who I'm referring to. Give them a try.} and fancied trying to learn at least that one song. I was expecting a Lapsteel to be quite expensive so was pleasantly surprised when I found Artist guitars had one at a very reasonable price. Free shipping as well was a real bonus. Shipped and received in very quick time. Artist guitars are great to deal with. Havn't quite mastered the lapsteel yet but working on it. I would say if you are keen to have a go at playing one and not spending a fortune doing it this is the one for you.. I'm not an expert but looks and sounds like the real deal to me. I'm Really happy with this guitar and would recommend it's worth a shot as a start out learner instrument without breaking the bank. Good luck.

Great starter instrument
I bought my MSL110 about 18 months ago. I was very impressed with Artist Guitars service and delivery, and I was extremly impressed with the lap steel, for it's price. It plays well, looks good, and sounds good; not a lot not to like! Never used the legs, prefering to use it on my "lap". I've since added an expensive custom made eight string lap steel to my collection, but I'll still keep the Artist . My 5 star review does take into account the price of the MSL110.

REVIEW ARTIST MSL110 LAP STEEL 6 STRING
As usual the item was posted immediately, I think it took 3 or 4 working days to arrive and it was very well packed and protected. The instrument itself is very nice, the only blemish I could see was a little bit of gold paint missing from a couple of frets but that is not worth bothering about and doesn't affect performance of the instrument. For the price I think it is a great starter instrument and sounds great. I would have spent that money in one afternoon at the pub but instead I am having hours of fun on this little lap steel. Would recommend it to anyone considering getting one.

I learnt to play one 50 years ago but sold it to buy other gigging gear. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this unit and as always the delivery was right on at a busy time of year. The intonation is ok and a quick retune to A6 posed no issues. Seems to hold its tuning pretty well. The pick-up & tone ranges are ok as well. Would have liked a contoured slide bar but the one supplied seems good quality. All in all a great company to deal with.Thanks

I read many reviews on Lap Steel guitars and settled for this model, as a beginner I am more than satisfied with the tone and play ability of the instrument. I chose to change the strings to 13-56 and I found that suited me better. Great Instrument.

I have used it sparingly so far as I am having huge fun with my Gembox II pedal, but have played it and it is nice and compact and easy to play the only problem is which tuning to use, I like the adjustable legs, I have no real issue with this product
